Sunday Post : Village

This is the historic village I have always wanted to go especially during winter. Finally we have the opportunity to visit last December.

The Shirakawa-go, an UNESCO site, where Ogimachi gassho-zukuri (A-frame) neighborhood was located at an altitude of approximately 500 meters along the Sho River.

The unique A-frame farm houses were built 200 to 300 years ago and a stroll in the neighbour, one could have a sense of the lifestyle in the village.

Love how these berries added colours to the environment

There is an observation deck that visitors could view have a panaromic view of the whole village.

A breathtaking sight

It was snowing when I took this photo and having the opportunity to witness how the snow added the effects to the scenery. We were really speechless.

There are many spectacular photos on the Sunday Post hosted by Jake. Do check it out.
